Position Summary:
The Workshop Operations Team Lead is a first-line operational leader responsible for overseeing end-to-end workshop operational flow across spare parts, logistics, and administrative functions. This role ensures accuracy, prioritization, and operational discipline in support of efficient repair throughput, controlled WIP levels, and achievement of service turnaround objectives. The position acts as a critical interface between operational teams and technical workshop leadership, directly impacting productivity, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and prioritization to spare parts, logistics, and repair coordination teams.
- Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues impacting workflow, repair progress, or turnaround times.
- Ensure consistent application of operational procedures, controls, and standards.
- Support onboarding, cross-training, and development of operational staff to maintain coverage and continuity.
Spare Parts Operations
- Maintain accurate and detailed inventory records for all watch components.
- Manage a high-volume spare parts inventory to ensure uninterrupted repair flow and minimize repair delays.
- Allocate parts accurately and efficiently to in-house repairs and watchmaker requests.
- Proactively manage jobs impacted by backordered parts, ensuring timely ordering and escalation of risks to delivery deadlines.
- Receive and validate daily and weekly transfer orders, confirming quantities, accuracy, and appropriate usage.
- Participate in and support weekly cycle counts and all inventory audits.
- Identify recurring parts-related issues and implement corrective actions to reduce delays and rework.
Logistics Oversight
- Partner closely with logistics associates to ensure timely, accurate inbound and outbound shipping activities.
- Oversee inter-site transfers and inbound repair shipments to prevent production bottlenecks.
- Monitor logistics performance and escalate issues that may impact workshop throughput or turnaround objectives.
Administrative & Systems Operations
- Oversee smooth workflow between administrative operations and technical workshop practices.
- Supervise repair coordinators to ensure accuracy and timeliness of repair intake, logging, estimates, and system updates.
- Ensure data integrity and timely transaction processing within SAP/ERP systems to support reliable reporting, billing, and customer communication.
- Oversee office administration and facility operations, including workshop maintenance, supply ordering, and general upkeep.

Education/Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree preferred.
- Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft applications;
- SAP experience strongly preferred;
- Ability to lead by example with professional and creative solutions
- Detail-oriented, meticulous and superb organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to self-manage and identify where to quickly adjust time allocation for workflow optimization.
- Customer-focused attitude with high level of professionalism and ability to communicate across various levels of the organization.
- At least 3–4 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

- Salary: $60,000 - 65,000/annually plus bonus
