Join our vibrant team in La Chaux-de-Fonds as a Tooling Management Project Intern - SAP Deployment & Rationalization, and be part of something extraordinary!
At the crossroads of industrialization, production and information systems, this internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the structuring and transformation of tooling management.
Your mission will be to support the definition and deployment of a structured tooling management framework within SAP, ensuring the traceability, availability and controlled lifecycle of the tools our production relies on. By connecting tooling to the products it serves and to the parameters that govern its wear, you will enable the organization to anticipate replenishment rather than react to it.
Building on this foundation, you will contribute to the rationalization of the tooling portfolio and to the definition of transverse standards, directly supporting the flexibility and responsiveness of our industrialization.
Your contribution:
Structure tooling management:
- You map tooling families and their associated flows: procurement, use, maintenance, refurbishment, upgrades, and end of life.
- You define the target tooling management model, including stock traceability, ordering processes for new tools, maintenance methodologies, and refurbishment of wear parts.
- You steer the project through to deployment, managing scope, milestones, stakeholder alignment, and user training.
Migrate data into SAP:
- You structure tooling reference data with IT and key users, defining how each tool is linked to the articles, BOMs, and routings it supports.
- You consolidate tooling lifetime and usage parameters with methods engineers and shop-floor experts, ensuring they are accurately reflected in the system.
- You define replenishment triggers based on remaining tool life, production plans, and supplier lead times.
Rationalize the tooling portfolio:
- You identify tools serving similar parts or operations that could be consolidated, prioritizing opportunities based on production volume, criticality, and cost.
- You define cross-functional tooling standards, including common cores, blanks, and fixtures compatible with both manual presses and automated machines.
- You formalize the methodology for specifying future tooling in line with these standards.
Do you think there is even more to discover in this role? You're right - apply today and learn more!
You will fit perfectly into our #Squad if:
- You are pursuing a Master's degree from a top-tier engineering school in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Systems, or a related field.
- You have previous academic or internship experience in industrialization, methods, production, or ERP projects (a plus).
- You have project management skills, including scoping, planning, and stakeholder alignment.
- You have advanced Excel skills.
- You demonstrate strong data analysis capabilities and structured problem-solving skills.
- You are familiar with lean and methods tools, such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), ABC analysis, and the 5 Whys methodology.
- You have experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or similar solutions (nice to have).
- You understand machining or assembly processes (nice to have).
- You have experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools (nice to have).
- You are familiar with CAD tools, preferably Inventor/Vault (nice to have).
You are fluent in French and you have a good command of English.
We invite you to apply even if you do not meet all of these criteria.
