We are looking for a proactive and delivery driven Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Digital platforms team in Grenchen.
The website and eCommerce platforms consist of several backend Python applications, leveraging FastAPI and Pydantic, for services connected to Nextjs based React applications.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, your primary focus is to act as an expert, partner with engineers and architects and contribute to the continuous development of the DevOps platform by implementing new solutions and features.
You are the owner of the code management including the complete CI/CD and promote an ‘automate everything’ approach, while applying the best engineering practices to ensure consistent and transparent execution.

Your contribution:
- You will work hand in hand with the project team and our partners to accelerate our business development by using DevOps methodologies and related solutions,
- You will own the CD/CI and cloud strategy,
- You will work with our developers and architects during the development, testing, deployment and operation of new tools, products and services and will become the main point of contact for our partners regarding DevOps topics,
- You will be autonomous and proactive; understand functional and technical requirements, identify gaps and suggest improvements,
- You will engage with stakeholders to discover opportunities and pain points, and map vision & requirements to specific products and components,
- You will be monitoring and optimization of the server and service performance, usage, logs, metrics, alerts (Datadog, Sentry) and SLAs,
- You will contribute to development and implementation of the security and Business Continuity Planning / Disaster Recovery strategies, completing risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities,
- You will research and recommendations of innovative and possibly automated approaches for system administration / provisioning tasks,
- You will update configuration of CDN, WAF (Akamai / Cloudfare).
You will fit well to our squad if:
- You have 5 years experience in a DevOps focused role, ideally in the eCommerce domain,
- You have an Undergarduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline,
- You have a minimum of 1 year experience with AWS (EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda), Kubernetes, Vercel, GIT, Docker, Docker Compose, Redis, PostgreSQL, CI/CD solutions (Bitbucket pipelines, ArgoCD, kustomize, Terraform) or similar,
- You are passionate and knowledgeable in DevOps methodologies and solutions and cloud-native development,
- You have desire to learn & expand your comfort zone whenever a new technological trend in DevOps space arises,
- You have proven knowledge of container runtimes and orchestration platforms, especially Docker and Kubernetes. Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes , cloud operation and supportservice delivery with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements,
- You can contribute to the definition of standards and good practices,
- You have a solid hands-on experience with Infrastructure-As- Code automation using Terraform is desired. You also have experience with coding (best practices, git workflows, testing, etc.) and scripting,
- You develop and improve tools for the automated delivery (CI/CD pipelines) testing, deployment, and management of the DevOps platform,
- You have experience with infrastructure monitoring products (Datadog, Sentry)
- You have expertise across a variety of security products including network and information security,
- You have strong time management and organizational skills,
- You are fluent in English. Any additional language is a plus,
- Cybersecurity experience would be a nice to have.
